Cabin Fever

Spring is almost here, which means an end to dreary winter. (Yaay!) I like feeling sunshine on my skin. I wish I got to experience that more.

Michael and I have been slowly entering the world of house-hunting. It may be hard with our champagne dreams and tuna fish earnings, but we'll see what we can afford with the help of our friendly family loan officer. My parents are helping us search for places too, and since both of them are ex-real estate agents, their advice and assistance means a lot to us. We're hoping to get a place in Gig Harbor since it would be so ideal -- both of us could walk/bike to work, we'd sell both cars and get something more family-oriented, and we would be closer to both our families. I'm hoping it works out for us. If I have to work OT in the job that I adore*, then so be it. I'll suck it up for the team.

Tiko has been quite the amazing bird in recent weeks. He flies to us on command, and hasn't crashed into anything shiny or see-through in a long time. He still gets bored occasionally and starts shrieking, but that's fixed after we through a pair of socks at him. His new favorite thing to fly to is Grandma Balogh's red Buddha statue. I found it odd that he even found it, since he usually doesn't fly much higher than six feet off the ground, and the statue is on top of our cabinets. He flies to it, sits at the base, and starts chirping at it like he's having a conversation with it. Weirdo. As long as it keeps him from shrieking, he can do that for as long as he wants.

I guess that's it for my monthly update. We're headed off to Portland for the weekend to babysit Max. I can't wait to squeeze his little cheeks!

* NOT.
