Baby on board!

I found out yesterday that I am officially a prego-saurus! Michael and I both agree that the news is exciting and scary at the same time. We think the baby is about the size of a seamonkey, hence the "Seamonkey Watch" widget to the right, which will track our baby's growth as the pregnancy progresses. Right now I think it looks like one of those creatures from the "Alien" movies.

With this news, I have joined rank with all the other pregnant people I know of, including both my sister-in-laws (Angie, due August 21 (or Billie's birthday), and Erin - due November), Tita Arlene - due December, Ashley Simpson-Wentz, Nicole Kidman, and Angelina Jolie.

I guess my big question is -- what now? I know I need to eat healthier and drink more water, but I don't know what else to do as far as doctor appointments and whatnot. Do I stay with the doctor I've been seeing in Puyallup, knowing we're moving this summer to Gig Harbor? Or do I find an OB in Gig Harbor/Tacoma to begin with?

My dad also accepted a job to Naples, Italy today, so Michael and I will most likely move in to their home once it's vacated and sterilized cleaned. In doing so, we'll be saving on rent, live in a nice neighborhood, but will inherit two crazy dogs that smell like necrotizing fasciitis. They'll fly back in December for Christmas and stay until the baby is born (due January 27). They'll have to stay in Italy for three years and keep telling me it's a good thing, since Michael and I can visit Europe for cheap by staying with them. We've flown overseas with a small infant before -- I think we'll wait a while before doing that again.

May Days

We're almost halfway through 2008. This is exciting because that means we're at most just four months away from leaving Puyallup since our lease will be ending in September. We're looking for our first home at a leisurely pace, hoping to find a place on the other side of the Narrow Bridges, either in Gig Harbor or Port Orchard. It will be great to live 20 minutes away from either set of parents. We'll feel like part of the world again.

Since my last post, I've become a godmother (for the third time) to my cousin's baby, Emmanuel. My sister calls him Baby Hulk as he is definitely built like a Lugod -- all muscles and cheeks. Emmanuel (or Eman) and I get along fabulously. It's always an ego-boost when a baby likes me.
