Settling in

Click here for the YouTube video tour of our house, created especially for family who live far away and are curious what the inside of our home looks like.  We've been in the house for about a month and a half and have done a little bit to get settled in (painted craft room, put up some curtains), but we still have a guest room full of unpacked boxes and no bed. 

The hospital opened up with much fanfare.  Media crews from all the news channels and newspapers were hovering around around the day we opened (March 17), taking video and asking questions.  We got on the front page of the paper and were snippets on the evening news.  Pretty exciting.  I worked my first day with patients on March 18 and honestly, it was pretty weird to get back in the swing of things after not having to do patient care since the beginning of February.  Good thing I only had one patient, and we were buddied up on a 2:1 ratio since we didn't know how our census would turn out.  Working dayshift has been pretty nice though.  I feel like a normal person again, awake during daylight hours instead of sleeping all day like a zombie.

Other than that, not much else to report.  We've finally been relieved of our housesitting and dogsitting assignment since my dad is back from the Philippines.  Mom is still over there, set to come back closer to April.  Our three year wedding anniversary is coming up (yay!) but don't have any plans as of yet for what we'll do to celebrate.  We'll be starting another dogsitting adventure with Mini when Mike's parents head off to Hawaii at the end of March.
